The story I am going to narrate is not of any famous personality or known face. Millions of beings across the globe in some way or the other, have created their own stories which will inspire & change lives of others.
Suresh was born to a middle class family with him being the eldest of the 3 siblings. His father Mr. Naresh worked in a government organization & had a field job. Naresh barely managed to make his family ends meet with school education for his 3 children.
On completing schooling, Suresh wanted to pursue engineering as it was his dream. However, Naresh couldn’t afford his education due to financial crisis. Moreover, the other children were also growing up to complete schooling & higher studies.
Suresh already had all this crisis scenario analyzed in his mind. He made a decision to opt for 3 year diploma as to gain technical knowledge & start working to support his family.
Suresh’s helpless mother Shanti felt deeply to see her son making this sacrifice at such a young age for his family. Suresh’s school principal always spoke highly of him for his talent, hard work, honesty & brilliance. This further hurt Shanti.
Seeing his mother weeping often, a motivated Suresh went to her & assured that there’s no need to feel bad for him at all. At the age of 16, he promised her that he will fulfill his dream & achieve what he wants to. It is just that his education is delayed and not denied.
On completing diploma, he started working wherever he had the opportunities to and to whatever the salary he was offered. After working for 6 years at different places, he enrolled for a night engineering college. He worked during the day & attended lectures at night. At times he missed college lectures during his night shifts.
Like many graduates, Suresh also had his share of struggles. After switching between 3 or 4 companies, he finally joined a reputed company where survival was not easy as a lot of unqualified & under performing employees were laid off frequently.
His stint in the company were the years of hard work, dedication honesty & commitment.
Presently, Suresh is a retired man owning a bungalow & car. He has two kids. Daughter working in an MNC & son pursuing graduation.
His two siblings are also settled in their lives with sister being a homemaker & brother working in a German origin company at a big position. His father Naresh is no more & mother Shanti lives with his brother satisfied that Suresh fulfilled the promise he made.
