Wisdom & smartness are certainly two distinct traits in humans. There is a smart person & there is wise. Smartness can be gifted to a person right since childhood but that’s not the case with wisdom.
Be it in school or college academics, smart & wise students deal with it differently. There is a written assignment where each student is expected to submit within the deadline.
A smart student will complete it a day before the deadline while enjoying rest of the time. Wise will set priorities for assignment & his other work according to the urgency & will complete in his allotted time.
Exams are approaching, the environment is tensed & students start counting days & begin planning their study schedules. Mr. Smart might not care how much days he has. He will just look which part of the syllabus is important by looking at the past question papers & most frequently asked topics. He may just study a week before the exams commence. During exams he will spend the entire day & night studying when the exam is on the next day.
Mr. Wise knows that he has no tricks to crack the exams other than to plan his schedule, count the days between each exam for each subject, know which subject is vast & which is not, which is difficult, which is easy. He will allocate days after weighing all the plus & minus for the subjects. He will make sure he will also reserve time for revision.
There is no comparison between these traits. Every individual is differently developed. The smart is either gifted or it is an outcome of nature of individual. Wisdom is neither gifted nor is in human nature, but is eventually imbibed as a quality. It comes through years of learning, experience & consciousness.
Every human being has a different life journey. Some have it smooth, some have it hard. Some have it painful while some blissful. The biggest lessons from life teach you lot things which give you the right insight & perception. And there your journey to wisdom begins.
The smart person with life experiences & rightful insights is also wise.
