Sharing my own story here.
Since childhood, I have always been an irresponsible, careless & a negative guy. Never attentive during school lectures, often punished for not completing homework, reaching school late. My misbehavior was always a reason for major embarrassment for my parents due to the frequent summons by teachers.
Lazy to an extent of not even caring to jot down important notice, let alone the study notes, written by teachers on the black board. This would create a lot of trouble for my mother as she had to approach & refer my classmate’s book to copy down the notes.
I was often scolded & even beaten for this attitude & carelessness, but nothing affected me.
It’s not like I was the only one of my kind, there were a few others too. This went on till primary classes.
After entering class 5, a sense of seniority prevailed in me with a little bit of responsibility of, at least not causing trouble for notes & all. However, I was as poor & below average in studies as I used to earlier. I continued performing poorly till next year.
I was admitted to a private tuition where my best friend(of that time) joined years back on his mother’s suggestion.
For the next 2.5 years till class 8 there was a slight improvement in my academic performance but not a major one though.
The next year, I decided to join a coaching center as I believed it to be the right decision. How it turned out to be a wrong one & my exam scores were once again below average.
This time, after an aggressive discussion, I was forced to go back to the same private tuition where I went previously.
Leaving an any place, institution or a person & returning to the same instills a desperate & determined urge to prove your worth. It brings about a 180 degree transformation in the way one thinks, speaks, acts & lives.
I was not the same person anymore till what is described till now. Rather the complete opposite. Never scored distinction marks in any subject ever in my academics, but the transformation made it happen.
I continued the same tuition till my SSC & passed with distinction.
